#1 Day 2 - Puncture!
Ideally, this tab was going to stay empty until the end of the trip and all the tools & spares we are carrying was meant to be just extra, unnessesary luggage!
However, already on Day 3, the first puncture provided some content as the picture below shows...

I'm pretty sure it happened near Marston Moretaine when we cycled through 'Hawthorn Alley Way' - not it's real name though.
It was shortcut to enter Marston Moretaine AND part of National Cycle Route 51. We entered this path and one could see that the shrubs got cut back very recently and of course, as it is done here quite often, the job was left half done and all the thorny, shredded branches were left on the path. Why can't the council blow those branches of the paths??
We stopped a few meters in and I suggested to Rebecca to ride the one mile detour around the village as this would be quicker than repairing a puncture... it was too late though!
Luckily it was a slow puncure and we made it to the hotel for the night without realising the issue until in the morning!
#2 Day 17 - Puncture!
As we arrived in Hontheim, just after coming all the way up from Strohn there was that, for cyclists well known spongy feeling coming from the front end of the bike! Puncture!

#3 Day 34 - New Chain
Chain disaster! I've tried to shorten the chain and took a link too many out...New chain was needed. Veloschmitte in Ruegsauschachen fixed it for me very quickly! Thank you!
#4 Day 57 - Puncture!
Wet day! As we were leaving Vienna, we've lost the EuroVelo 6 signs and tried to follow our noses to pick it up somewhere out of Vienna. Not with much luck at first, but about 15km into the day, cycling out of Vienna along the Danube Canal Path, followed by crossing over the Danube Island on to the other side of the river, we suddenly saw our first EV6 sign for the day. Great!
Our euphoria only lasted for about another 3km which was when Rebecca had a puncture in her front wheel! A tiny metal pin, which looked like a bristle of a steel brush, embedded itself into the front tyre.
Not a big deal as such. However, repairing it in the sunshine would still be easier!
#5 Day 80 - Lost Screw on back Pannier Rack
The lower screw on the back pannier rack came off a couple of days ago. I was able to fix with a zip-tie which was only a temporary repair and it wore through within two days.
The Cross Bike Shop in Montana was able to find a suitable screw to fix the issue.

#8 Day 100 - Puncture!
On the approach to Istanbul, a small steel pin embedded itself in the rear tyre. Quick roadside fix.
It was less of a quick fix for the bus driver who stopped next to us as he also had a puncture in the rear tyre...
